DNAzyme

An DNAzyme is an "catalytic DNA molecule, also called DNA enzyme or deoxyribozymes, which is selected in vitro from random sequence DNA pools.  With the help of particular cofactors, such as metal ions and hemin, this DNA–based biocatalyst facilitates the chemical reaction of the substrates."1
