SAMDI is "the combination of self-assembled monolayers and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry, which permits rapid characterization of the masses of alkanethiolates in a monolayer; useful for characterizing chemical and biochemical reactions at surfaces" 1
